How to Edit PDF Templates

You’ve probably seen these fancy templates floating around Pinterest and on Etsy that you can edit to add your own information. They come in the form of business cards and invitations and everything in between.

As I was pondering what to create for this month’s Freebie Library addition, my babysitter asked me what the Wifi password to my network was.

Ding ding!

I’ve always wanted one of these cute printables for my house so my guests could easily see what the network password was instead of me having spouting off letters, numbers and symbols at them.

And of course, you don’t want to print out the template and have to hand write your password on there. Or maybe that’s just me and my perfectionist personality. Haha.

Either way, I’m going to take you through how to add your own text to an editable PDF.

First, you’ll need an editable PDF to follow along with. You can download my cute little wifi PDF or use one of your own. Mine comes with two sizes – an 8×10″ and a 5×7″ – so decide which size you want to use and download it now.

This printable is a part of my Freebie Library. Get yours now!

You’ll also need Adobe Reader, which is free. If you don’t already have that installed on your computer, you can get it for free here.

Step 1: After Adobe Reader is installed, open it up and choose File > Open from the toolbar.

Step 2: Navigate to the place you saved your PDF and locate it. Now click the file and Open button.

Step 3: You’ll see “Highlight Existing Fields” in the upper right corner of the PDF. Click that.

click where the red arrow is pointing

Step 4: Now all of the areas you can fill in with your own text have been highlighted blue. Simply click in the blue box and type your own text.

Step 5: Now you are ready to save and print! Go back to the Adobe toolbar menu and choose File > Save. To print choose File > Print

Wasn’t that easy? I thought so!

If you enjoyed your free Wifi printable, you’ll love what’s in the Freebie Library! If you used the box above to download the file, you already have access to the entire Freebie Library. Check your inbox for an email from me that will contain the password.
